‘Best Thing Ever’ is the brand new single/video from Afrobeats/R&B star, Rotimo. The single is now available on all major digital download/streaming sites. It is a fusion of Afrobeats and R&B with the latter taking centre stage in the production and a balance of African/English lyrics as he tells his lover there’s nothing in the world better than she is.
Over the years, Rotimo has developed his craft as a singer, songwriter, and performer in the UK. From penning his own music, to leading an underground UK funk band, and organising his own headline concerts, he has been carving out a niche for himself. His previous single, ‘For The Ladies’ got him into people’s consciousness as a rising star; earning him the number 1 spot on a couple of Nigerian and UK radio music charts (via Rhythm FM Nigeria and Beat FM UK).
His latest single ‘Best Thing Ever’ is released in the lead up to a series of singles from him on his Extended Play (EP) album project due later in the year.
In this video, his blind love interest is pleasantly surprised as she walks through an empty white space to receive a series of messages from him which are written in braille, framed and left floating in the air. His messages are translated at the end of the video. This unique sound combined with artistic visuals is a glimpse of even more to come from him.
