Solitude for some can be frightening, but for Nigerian rap artist Selick Idahosa, better known as Leaux (Pronounced LOW), is where he finds his creative niche through the form of rap.
Leaux, hailing from the city of Toronto, started his rap career at the age of 17, where he would write, record and mix his music by himself. He started out by dropping freestyles with the mainstream singles that were out at the time to improve and broaden his rap abilities. He Put up his first public freestyle and seeing the overwhelming response it had garnered, Leaux continued to release many other freestyles and began to see rap as viable career rather than a hobby. His biggest freestyle that garnered him over 14k followers on twitter and 17k followers on Tumblr was a cover of J.Cole’s ”In The Morning” which had a video to accompany the freestyle that was shot by prime.
Over 17,000 views on Worldstarhiphop and 13,000 views on youtube later,Leaux is ready to set the stakes higher and take on the international stage, With future collaboration with Ice Prince and WizKid in the works and an album that he will be working on in Nigeria as well as hometown of Toronto, The sky is the limit for this lone altruistic rap star in the making.”
