Akeju, formerly known as B-Clay, is making waves after a two year hiatus, with his newly released single under the Black Speech Media Group label.
Produced by Genius Selection, ‘Most High’ is spiritual and inspirational with elements of Dancehall, Reggae and Afrobeat. ‘Most High’ is sang in both English and Twi, paying homage to the artist’s upbringing in Ghana. Featured in the song is singer/songwriter, Alexis Layne, well known for working with artists such as Luciano, Collie Buddz and Leon.
Based in New York City, Akeju is both a versatile and talented performer with over a decade of writing, producing and performing music. His music has taken him around the world performing at several universal concerts such as, ‘’The Art of Speech for Humanity Concert’’ in London, ‘’Africa Unites Tour’’ in South Africa; and the ‘’Save Africa Concert Foundation’’ at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York, where Winnie Mandela was in attendance and recently ‘’Voices of African Mothers’’ at United Nations.
The artist still maintains deep roots with his Ghanaian/Nigerian heritage, and makes intentional choice to keep his culture alive through his music.
‘’To be able to use my talent to celebrate and honor my upbringing is a gift I cherish,’’ said the Akeju. ‘’In many ways, this new single is an expression of gratitude for God’s blessing, and an expressed hope for many more to come.’’
