The much publicized weekly entertainment industry party; E-Rave berthed in grand style on Thursday the 1st of November at the posh ambience of club Rumors along Oduduwa way, GRA Ikeja – Lagos. The highly anticipated event met and even surpassed the expectations of many entertainment enthusiasts. The celebrity guest of the week was eLDee the Don. He attended the event in company of his Trype Records crew comprising; fast rising singers K9 and Sojay as well as the prolific rapper and American returnee Rukus. Other celebrities who also graced the event include; the CEO of Callivision Network, Mr. Cally Ikpe, Big Brother Africa contestant; Goldie, ace video director; Patrick Elis, sensational singers; Harrysong and Pheel, Kennis Music’s rave of the moment; Joel, you don hit my car crooner; Tony Tetuila, Konga and the CFR himself; Gbenga Adeyinka the 1st who was at his very best as the host of the event.
The E-Rave red carpet was abuzz with several cameras from representatives of various media houses. The show commenced at about 10pm with a very interesting documentary on elDee the Don. The documentary elicited some excitement by taking the audience down memory lane; and chronicling the very humble beginning of elDee. It also highlighted his several achievements. Thereafter comments were taken from Tony Tetuila and Tuface who recounted their many ordeals and police encounter with elDee in their hay days. Tuface’s narration was so hilarious that he could have very well passed for a comedian. Gbenga Adeyinka took over and carried everybody along during the interactive segments. elDee was made to grant wishes from his fans on the wish list segment of the show and also entertained questions from the media on the hot spot segment.
Performances for the night were by artistes like; Pheel, Shaun Don, K9, and Johnnyman who all took turns to thrill the audience. The gift presentation segment by the E-Rave crew marked the highpoint of the evening. It was indeed a very emotional moment for elDee and other onlookers when the organizers stepped forward to present him with a beautifully framed picture of him performing at an event. In his acceptance speech elDee was full of praises for the E-Rave crew for pampering him with so much love and making him feel very special. The event which was powered by Klick Promotions in collaboration with Ruffsounds and Nasville entertainment ended at about 12pm, even though guests were reluctant to leave the party. The rave continued till the early hours of the morning as there was enough to eat and drink. Hennessey and 28black energy drinks as well as Anthony small chops were on hand to satisfy the guests.
The organizers of E-Rave said the event was aimed at celebrating celebrities who had distinguished themselves in music, comedy, movies and the media industries in general. They harped on the need to appreciate and encourage Nigerian showbiz celebrities the more, as we owe them a duty to do so collectively. The very successful edition of the maiden edition is an attestation of the fact that E-Rave is fast positioning as the biggest weekly entertainment industry celebrity party with its main hold on the Lagos mainland. E-Rave is poised to unleash unlimited fun again this week, Thursday 8th November at the comedy series when it hosts Julius Agwu at the same venue; club Rumors on Oduduwa way GRA ikeja – Lagos.
