The crowd at Sao Café went wild as the clock hit 11.30pm on June 23rd, which meant DJ Obi had been DJing for 24hours straight. Some say 9 more days is a lot and wonder if Dj Obi will be able to keep up? Others say he’s started out strong and the optimism will only grow the closer he gets to his 10day goal.
Speaking on how the public is reacting to his decision to beat the current record, Dj Obi says; “The reception has been really great, some people think I’m crazy, others have said ‘there’s no backing down now’ and they’re right, they believe in me and I believe in myself. We are in this to win it”.
The love and support for DJ Obi has been overwhelming as he continues to push harder in his attempt to break the current Guinness World Record for Longest Marathon Club DJing, which was set in Dublin, Ireland at 200 hours in 2014.
Near the end of his first 24 hours, DJ Obi got more visits and support from his family, friends, fans, fellow DJ’s, and industry comrades such as DJ Spinall, DJ Xclusive, Tiwa Savage, Praiz, Yung L and more.
Come party with DJ Obi and friends at Sao Café, we’ll be here until 11:30 pm onSaturday, July 2nd. For those who can’t make it in, make sure to send us your support via social media. We need you!
