West Africa’s foremost Music institute and Foundation recently, as part of its mandate to inject professionalism into the sector, gave both Ashiru Olawale (BRYMO) and Aituaje Iruobe (WAJE) the prestigious Mentor Worthy Honorary Award in recognition of their artistic ingenuity and creativity in an industry experiencing the dearth of fresh ideas, depth, content and values.
Tenstrings music institute which is registered in Nigeria as a foundation with the mandate to promote music education and creativity amongst young people across the country, has been in operation for over six years and today has expanded rapidly, currently running six different study centers efficiently (Ikeja, Surulere, Lekki, Festac, Port Harcourt and Abuja). It has trained over 2000 persons in about five years.
Director and CEO of Tenstrings, Emmanuel Akapo, in his citation encourages both artistes to remain focused as the road to iconic status in the industry is full of distractions.
The annual event tagged, STAR MINGLE, is a platform that afford students the institution to hob knob in an atmosphere of camaraderie with some of the industry’s biggest names, once again gave impetus and ray of hope to the students as both stars relived their experiences and gave hints that has helped them on the rise to stardom.
