I sit and write
With my pen and paper
Writing for a revolt
Hoping the pebbles in the eyes of my people would fall
I sit with my pen and write
On a sheet of paper
Straining my mind
Hoping not to stir the anger of those
I write against
I sit with pen
And write
Hoping to fill the pages of my pads with words
Words that would stir something in my people
Stirring anger at the government
Stirring a revolt in a few hearts
I sit with a pen and write
I write everyday
Every hour
I write by my window
So I can watch the injustice
So I can watch how my people die from poverty
So I can watch those at the top squander what we have
I fill my pads with words
Words of pain
Words of revolt
I sit and watch
Waiting for my time
Hoping it is soon
For it will be published
And what I want
There would be a revolt
It would be soon
Just wait for the words in the pad
